Peter is a Registered Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists (www.cap.ab.ca). He has been honing skills as a mental health practitioner since 2009 and officially registered since 2012.
Peter is passionate about helping others develop alternative ways of understanding life problems, as well as better managing the recurring pain and suffering spanning several categories of mental health disorder, including anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, relational difficulties, substance abuse problems, and disorders of personality and emotion regulation.
Most of Peter's therapeutic experience has come through working with adults one-on-one, as well as with couples. His treatment approach involves a combination of Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
Peter is highly sensitive to the needs of those entering into therapy and has developed a clinical approach that has been well received. He has guided clients towards optimized functioning through skillful application of the therapeutic relationship and imparting of skills tailored to each individual case.
Peter appreciates the uniqueness and complexity of each individual and promotes an attitude of compassion in his work. He knows very well the degree to which those that struggle with their mental health are often misunderstood as a result of their illness. He believes there is hope for improvement and strives to bring this spirit into each therapeutic encounter.
